Music Mentors

MM Composite 2

Launched in May 2015 by patron Julian Lloyd Webber, Music Mentors is the latest addition to St George’s Bristol’s education programme.

This is a fantastic idea and I am really looking forward to making my own my contribution! I am sure that many aspiring musicians will derive huge benefit and inspiration from the wonderful array of musicians that continually appear at St George’s.
Julian Lloyd Webber

Artists performing at St George’s are eagerly signing up to offer personal music mentoring opportunities to aspiring young local musicians. More mentors performing in the new autumn season will be announced in the coming months, but so far include Cellist Natalie Clein, and workshops with Onyx Brass. The team at St George’s are delighted by the positive response so far from artists covering both classical and contemporary music genres.

“Thank you to Julian for being the Patron of our scheme. St George’s is a very special place for artists and audiences alike and with this scheme, part of our Building a Sound Future development project, we are delighted to offer young local musicians a chance to meet and learn from their heroes. The response from musicians has been tremendous and I think some of these lessons could make a real difference to young people’s musical lives. Not everyone can say they’ve been taught by the biggest names in music.”
